Description
The Senior Content Developer will be responsible for creating, editing, maintaining, and updating Money Education’s textbooks and other products related to financial education, including but not limited to exams, PowerPoint presentations, practice questions, and educational videos to support learning.

      

Roles and Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and update content for new and existing educational products in income tax, retirement, employee benefits, estate planning, insurance, investments, and fundamentals of financial planning. 
  • Update slides, quizzes, exams, cases, and other material used in education programs.
  • Develop and/or coordinate the development of new education and textbook content and CFP® exam review content required. 
  • Develop/maintain subject matter expertise in financial planning.
  • Create and edit training materials for online and print media. 
  • Develop and update training visuals, graphics, and facilitator guides for instructors. 
  • Review materials for formatting, accuracy of calculations and basic technical competency.
  • Respond to instructor and customer inquiries regarding training content. 

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously update knowledge contemporaneous with industry and law changes. 
  • Build relationships with faculty of CFP Registered Programs to understand needs and industry changes.
Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or professional financial planning experience or Ph.D. in Financial Planning, Accounting, or a similar area.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • CFA, CPA, Master of Science in Accounting or Taxation, or JD preferred. 

Preferred Skills

  • Prior teaching and/or writing experience.
  • Financial planning industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Adobe FrameMaker a plus.
  • Ability to accurately interpret and summarize law changes related to key financial planning areas.
