ICMS is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to oversee several facilities located in San Antonio, Texas, with additional responsibilities for buildings in Corpus Christi, Pearsall, and Victoria, Texas, to lead and oversee custodial staff in maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and general upkeep of building interiors and exteriors, including grounds maintenance and related services. This position requires strong leadership skills, hands-on supervision, and the ability to manage day-to-day custodial operations effectively.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the position will include but are not limited to:
- Plan and manage work shifts, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and effective work schedules
- Train, evaluate, and oversee custodial personnel on proper cleaning techniques, safety standards, and use of custodial equipment
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures, applying appropriate safety standards for all custodial operations
- Supervise the proper use and maintenance of custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning supplies, including manually operated and electrically powered machines
- Perform Quality Control ensuring completion of inspections, scheduling, contract compliance, corrective actions, and process improvements
- Respond to tenant complaints and coordinate corrective actions
- Manage general grounds maintenance responsibilities, including scheduling and supervising vendors
- Prepare and maintain reports including inventory levels, staffing plans, SDS specifications, service requests and schedules
- Oversee compliance with custodial procedures for storage, usage, and disposal of cleaning solvents and chemicals
- Assist in special custodial projects and emergency response cleanups as required
- Maintain inventory records of cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment
- Monitor minimum stocking levels and procure monthly supply orders
- Apply industry-standard custodial techniques, materials, and quality standards
- Perform regular tours and adjust frequencies, prescriptions and schedules as necessary
- Ensure compliance with proper chemical handling, application, and disposal methods.
- Minimum five (5) years of custodial or facility maintenance experience, with at least two (2) years in a supervisory or lead role
- Although position is based in San Antionio, Texas, candidate must be able to travel regularly to buildings located in Corpus Christie, Pearsall, and Victoria, Texas.
- Documented experience as a Custodial Supervisor in a large commercial or federal facility
- Experience scheduling and supervising grounds maintenance activities
- ISSA CIMS Certification or equivalent industry certification or training
- Strong organizational and communication skills to effectively lead custodial teams
- Knowledge of proper custodial procedures for using and maintaining cleaning tools, machines, and chemical solutions
- Familiarity with quality control programs related to custodial operations, including inspections and corrective actions
- Ability to work independently and follow specific, detailed instructions
- Must be fully conversant in English and Spanish
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Capable of responding to emergencies during off-hours
- Travel: ability to travel regularly to buildings located in Corpus Christie, Pearsall, and Victoria, Texas.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work and stay on feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day)
- Ability to climb stairs and lift to 75 pounds as necessary
Full-Time: Monday-Friday, 7:30am – 3:30pm
Salary: $75,000/annually
