Job Description: Dietary Cook
As a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents. You will work closely with our Nutritionist to ensure that all meals are nutritious, delicious, and visually appealing.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to dietary requirements and recipes
Ensure that all meals are nutritious, delicious, and visually appealing
Monitor food supplies and order ingredients as needed
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
Collaborate with Nutritionist to develop menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents
Train and supervise kitchen staff as needed
Job Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an accredited culinary school program (associate or bachelor’s degree) OR
Have a bachelor’s degree with major concentration in food preparation, nutrition or related field OR
Have a high school diploma with a minimum of five (5) years in hospitality industry.
Previous cook experience preferred, as well as experience in health care food service setting.
Must have knowledge of dietary regulatory requirements.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
Moderate physical activity:
Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet.
Standing and/or walking for more than eight (8) hours per day.
Bending and/or stooping for more than one (1) hour at a time.
