The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting the Quality Control department in maintaining and improving the quality of high-performance alloy equipment. This role involves a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to quality. The technician will work closely with engineering, production, and inspection teams to ensure products meet customer specifications and industry standards for high-temperature and corrosive environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide support for the Quality Inspectors to assure all customer contract requirements are fulfilled and assist with the administration of the Quality Management System.
· Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement corrective actions for quality issues, considering the impact on performance in extreme conditions.
· Participate in root cause analysis investigations to identify and eliminate quality problems that may affect performance under high temperatures and corrosion.
· Assist in the development and maintenance of quality control plans and procedures specific to high-performance alloy equipment.
· Investigate and process Non-Conforming Material reports for discrepancies on in-house parts, vendor parts, and Customer returns.
· Perform internal audits and follow-up of corrective actions.
· Act as company representative on customer visits.
· Analyze inspection data and identify trends or quality issues related to high-temperature and corrosion resistance.
· Prepare, review, and maintain detailed inspection reports and records.
· Conduct routine inspections and tests on raw materials, work in progress, and finished products to ensure conformance to quality standards and specifications, especially for high-temperature and corrosive applications.
· Utilize various quality control tools and equipment to perform inspections and collect data, ensuring suitability for harsh industrial environments.
· Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
· Perform in-process and final inspections as required to assist with production demands.
· Experience with visual and NDT methods to test/examine products.
- Engineering Associates degree, Technical or vocational training in quality control or a related field preferred.
- Experience in Quality documents creation and process management, such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP), Material Test Report review, and Document package.
- Experience managing QC processes such as Non-conforming materials (NCRs), customer returns.
- Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) or manufacturing codes (AWS, ASME, etc.).
- Proficiency in computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, quality management software).
- Experience with continuous improvement of processes and Root Cause analysis.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the metalworking industry.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in using a tape measure, measuring instruments, and quality control equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications for complex industrial equipment.
- Experience in blueprint and welding symbol chart reading.
- Ability to read micrometers and precision measuring instruments.
- Help create and implement standards and procedures for inspection and testing.
