Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Concrete Field Technician to oversee concrete placement, conduct field testing, and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in concrete testing, knowledge of ASTM and ACI procedures, and the ability to document and report findings accurately.
General Descriptions of Duties:
- Monitor job-site activities to ensure proper placement, finishing, and curing of concrete in compliance with project specifications.
- Communicate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to address any quality concerns or deviations from specifications.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of test results, inspections, and site observations.
- Perform field testing of fresh concrete, including slump, air content, unit weight, and temperature tests per ASTM standards.
- Prepare and transport concrete test specimens for laboratory curing and strength testing as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and report any unsafe conditions.
- Operate and maintain field testing equipment in accordance with industry standards.
- Assist with mix adjustments and troubleshooting concrete issues on-site to deliver quality concrete to the Customer.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is a plus).
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I certification (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
- Knowledge of ASTM C94, C31, C39, and other relevant concrete testing standards.
- Previous experience in concrete field testing or construction quality control preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings.
- Good communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple job sites.
- Physical ability to lift and transport concrete test samples and perform fieldwork in various weather conditions.
