Job Description: Recovery Coach

 Time commitment: Part-time 24-32 hours per week, potential for full-time 

Reports to: Anthem House Director

Status: Full-Time; At-Will Employee


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Take students to weekly recovery groups in the community
  • Create individualized treatment plans for boys in recovery
  • Coach students and hold them accountable on actualizing plans
  • Assist in staffing shifts, helping things go right each weeknight
  • Use the Pyramid of Influence in helping students recover
  • Gives oversight to drug tests
  • Proactively teach students principles of recovery
  • Work with the students on their dailies
  • Report in treatment team weekly
  • Respond to parent questions as needed
  • Plan and execute weekly fun and recovery activities
  • Enforcing student rules
  • Monitoring and carrying out consequences under the direction of the shift supervisor
  • Charting in each student's medical record on the HQ database
  • Communicating and reporting to shift supervisor
  • Supporting and assisting other Telos departments in their job descriptions (i.e.: nursing appointments, education testing, grading, tutoring, general cleaning and maintenance, answering telephones, shopping, transporting) as allowed by staffing ratios
  • Participating on assigned committees or special assignments
  • Assisting with runaway retrieval
  • Participating in therapeutic holds and restraints
  • Attending and maintaining current certifications such as CPR and first aid
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Substance Use Disorder Counselor Certificate (preferred but not required)
  • Experience working with adolescent boys with emotional disorders
  • Experience working with SU disorders
  • Experience with mindfulness skills
  • Experience with the 12-step model of recovery and other researched based models of recovery
  • Inspiring interpersonal skills

Salary Description
$17/hour starting pay, DOE
