Description

Purpose of the Position: 

The Project Engineer’s (Structural) primary responsibility revolves around analysis of existing/proposed antenna mounting system for a wireless deployment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:    

  • Review and interpret project plans, specifications, customer requirements, and mapping reports, gather necessary information to analyze existing/proposed mounting system for a wireless deployment.
  • Design, engineer, and assess the structural integrity of mounts for communication sites (towers, rooftops, chimney, water tank, etc.)
  • Experience reviewing Mount Analysis for telecommunication sites.
  • Propose, design, and analyze modification for failing mounts.
  • Perform calculations ensuring compliance to local regulations, building code requirements, zoning laws including ANSI/TIA-222 and International Building Code (IBC) for structural design and analysis, to determine adequacy of the telecommunication mount structure.
  • Create site-specific mount analysis reports for senior professional engineers to review and approve for stamping.
  • Proficient knowledge of MathCad, RISA 3D, and AutoCad.
  • Collaborate with structural drafters to ensure pertinent information from mount analysis had been included in construction drawings.
  • Follow company guidelines as it relates to file management.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Computer Equipment and Software Requirements

  • Expert level experience using Microsoft Office Suite & Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat (pdf files).
  • Basic use and knowledge of MathCad.
  • Advance use and knowledge of RISA 3D.

Education and Experience Required

  • Engineering degree with structural background required.
