Job Summary

The Supplier, Vendor, and Outsource Partner Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our external partners. This role involves vetting and validating potential suppliers, vendors, and outsource partners through rigorous quality criteria, establishing robust relationships, and driving continuous improvement in their performance. This position will serve as a key point of contact between internal teams and external partners, ensuring seamless information flow and process alignment.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Supplier/Vendor/Outsource Partner Management: 

o Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and outsource partners.

o Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters.

• Supplier/Vendor/Outsource Partner Validation and Onboarding: 

o Conduct thorough evaluations of potential partners using PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and other established quality criteria.

o Manage the onboarding process for new partners, ensuring alignment with quality standards.

• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: 

o Track and analyze supplier, vendor, and outsource partner performance metrics.

o Generate and distribute regular performance reports.

o Drive corrective actions when needed.

• Process Improvement and Standardization: 

o Develop and implement best practice tools, processes, and procedures for supplier, vendor, and outsource partner quality management.

o Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; higher education preferred.
• Experience in complex issue resolution.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001 or similar).
• Practical work experience in supplier, vendor, and outsource partner relationship management.
• Experience with PPAP.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven problem-solving skills and experience with relevant tools and techniques.
• Strong understanding of root cause and corrective/preventive action analysis.
• High level of integrity and a strong work ethic.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, salaried, position. Hours are flexible and negotiable and should align with operational support needs. Core hours are Monday through Friday.

Physical Demands

Primarily office work with some (less than 30%) time spent on the production floor. May also include travel to vendors, suppliers and outsource partners.
