This role is responsible for the quality and efficiency of new product introduction to include both technical issues and business processes. This position resolves significant technical challenges, problems, and issues as soon as they arise to Primus and customer management. The position covers a wide array of duties and requires excellent managerial and organizational skills along with superior project management capabilities to champion new product introductions. A solid technical background in a manufacturing environment is required. The NPI Program Manager works closely with Sales, Operations and Engineering in all levels of the organization, therefore excellent communication and interpersonal skills are critical.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Primary point of contact with customer program team, technical, procurement and quality offices for development projects and growth within the department(s)
- Develop and update overall program plan on assigned programs
- Manage the overall performance of all program-related efforts
- Provide oversight and support for contracts and work order related functions
- 25% travel anticipated to meet with customers, attend meetings, visit production sites
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of science degree
- Five years previous program manager experience
- Previous manufacturing experience in a build to print environment
- Proficient computer and applications software skills: MS Word, Excel, Project, Power Point, Outlook
- PMP/Agile certification a plus
- Estimating, product costing and negotiating experience
- Product development, project planning, coordination and management
- Organizational and logistics management
- Possess technical skills to lead or leverage cross functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality) to evaluate, develop, and manage projects for product development
Specific Tasks and Focus Areas:
- Develop and monitor budgets and schedule of activities
- Develop and update overall Program Plan on assigned programs
- Develop project plans and/or job plans for program related efforts or contracts
- Including Action Item Lists, statements of work (SOWs), etc.
- Provide leadership, management and oversight of plan execution
- Manage the overall performance of all program related efforts
- Routine reporting of program status and performance to company management
- Determine overall scope of effort; work up cost and schedule estimates
- Provide oversight and support for job readiness activities
- Primary point of contact on job requirements and changes regarding cost, schedule, technical and quality issues
