IT Infrastructure and Security Consultant
Description

This role is responsible for assisting with the implementation of Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, with the follow-on maintenance and operations of the Microsoft Defender Suite of products. This role will work as a member of highly skilled cyber security team that protects well over 100,000 endpoints and a vast array of applications, servers and network equipment. 


The role requires on-site support at the client’s office in Baton Rouge, LA. This is a one-year project for a W-2 temporary employee. It may be possible to extend beyond one year.


Responsibilities:

  • Security Implementation and Management: Design, implement, and manage comprehensive security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and sensitive information from cyber threats.
  • Microsoft Defender Suite Expertise: Utilize the full range of Microsoft Defender products, including Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Defender for Office 365, and Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, to ensure robust threat protection, detection, and response capabilities.
  • Microsoft O365 Administration: Administer and support the Microsoft O365 suite, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Policy Development and Enforcement: Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Incident Response and Analysis: Respond to security incidents promptly, conduct thorough investigations, and provide detailed post-event analyses to prevent future occurrences.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to maintain and enhance expertise.



Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with the Microsoft Defender suite of products (e.g., Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps, Microsoft Defender for Office 365) or similar product suites where the skills are transferrable.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft O365 suite and its administration.
  • Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and cloud services.
  • Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, CompTIA Security+) are a plus.
