About the Role:
As a Mortgage Development Officer, your mission is to forge and nurture relationships with key referral partners, including homebuyers, homeowners, realtors, builders, and financial planners. Your efforts will not only boost mortgage volume and drive business growth but also enhance the overall experience for our valued members.
What You'll Do:
- Connect & Collaborate: Build and maintain a robust client referral base, positioning our credit union's products and services as the go-to solutions in the marketplace.
- Originate Loans: Leverage your networking prowess to originate conventional mortgage loans through proactive and strategic prospecting.
- Industry Engagement: Actively participate in industry-related professional organizations, networking groups, and homeownership agencies.
- Market Leadership: Promote our mortgage lending program to key players in the real estate community, showcasing the advantages we offer.
- Client Support: Assist borrowers in determining the proper loan program, completing loan applications, and gathering necessary paperwork.
- Communication: Follow loans to closing, maintaining communication with borrowers and working closely with underwriters to resolve any challenges.
- Knowledge & Compliance: Stay up-to-date on all mortgage programs, policies, and compliance, as well as current market trends.

- Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of all credit union products to uncover and meet the unexpressed needs of borrowers.
- Sales Excellence: Consistently meet department sales expectations and deliver exceptional experiences that others aspire to emulate.

What We're Looking For:
- 3-5 years of similar or related experience, preferably in mortgage loan origination/relationship management.
- Prior experience in building and maintaining Real Estate client relationships.
- Superior communication skills both written and verbal.
- Experience in self-prospecting lead generation.
- NMLS registration and notary certification.
- Ability to work out of other branches as needed.
