Description

Position Summary: 

The Cleaning Technician is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting returned equipment, cleaning room maintenance, stocking and staging inventory, and inventory maintenance. The Cleaning Technician assists the Warehouse Technician and Warehouse Manager by pulling and loading equipment for delivery in addition to assembly of equipment when necessary. 


Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for conducting routine maintenance per guidelines on returned equipment. 
  • Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting equipment per policy. 
  • Responsible for the functionality and cleanliness of equipment as evidenced by related patient perception of care scores.  
  • Responsible for documenting cleaning and routine maintenance as defined by guidelines. 
  • Responsible for coordinating return of equipment to Biomed as indicated per company guidelines. 
  • Evaluates and recommends changes to our standard cleaning supply inventory. 
  • Responsible for the timeliness, quality, and prioritization of equipment cleaning and disinfecting. 
  • Follows proper procedures to reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, and complaints. 
  • Responsible for conducting equipment repairs (general). 
  • Generally, equipment returned to the dirty area from previous day and morning stock truck run should be cleaned by the end of each day 
  • Reports unsafe conditions associated with returned equipment. 
  • Identifies contaminated equipment and wears appropriate Personal Protective Equipment per company policy.  
  • Responsible for helping with various warehouse duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager, this includes, but is not limited to putting up stock, sweeping floors, straightening shelves, assembling equipment, and overall organization of the warehouse, helping with transfer and reverse transfer orders.  
  • As assigned by the warehouse manager, may be responsible for documentation of FDA requirements regarding oxygen and maintains records as assigned in compliance with all regulatory and compliance agencies.  
  • Helps with pulling equipment and checks off that equipment was pulled completely and accurately for patient orders. 
  • Helps unload returned equipment and forward to dirty area. 
  • Responsible for communicating actual and potential stock shortages or outages to the warehouse manager in a timely manner to assure adequate inventory level. 
  • Responsible for monitoring expiration dates to assure supplies are returned or re-inventoried per company guidelines. 
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company. 
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA. 
  • Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required. 
  • Maintains compliant with AdaptHealth’s Compliance Program. 
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency 
  • Construction, general manual labor, military and equipment repair, or maintenance skills would be considered related experience 

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Able to lift 50 pounds, be able to sit, stand, bend stoop, kneel, pull, climb, reach, lift, and perform repetitive movements of the upper extremities 
  • Subject to long periods of sitting and driving 
  • Work environment may be stressful at times, as overall work activities and work levels fluctuate 
  • May be exposed to unsanitary conditions in some home settings 
  • May be exposed to high crime areas within the service community  
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold, direct, or indirect contact with airborne, bloodborne, and/or other potentially infectious pathogen 
  • Must be able to drive independently and travel as needed 
  • May be exposed to angry or irate customers 
  • Steel-toed footwear are always required  
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy.
