Position Overview:
The Guest Services Attendant plays a vital role in ensuring guests have a warm welcome and enjoyable experience during their stay. The position is responsible for assisting guests with luggage and personal belongings, maintaining the cleanliness and functionality of public areas, and addressing minor maintenance concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)
Guest Services
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, providing assistance with luggage and personal belongings.
- Escort guests to their rooms and familiarize them with hotel features and amenities.
- Deliver packages, messages, and other items as required.
Hotel Operations
- Maintain Lobby and public area cleanliness and organization.
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and emptying of trash.
- Ensure public areas and restrooms are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Respond to after-hours housekeeping needs.
Safety and Security
- Monitor pedestrian traffic and patrol public areas, guest floors, and perimeters.
- Identify and report safety hazards promptly.
- Adhere to hotel life safety systems and emergency procedures.
General Maintenance
- Address minor maintenance issues such as replacing light bulbs or handling minor plumbing concerns.
- Escalate larger maintenance concerns to Manager or Maintenance Staff.
Other Responsibilities
- Assist Front Desk staff with calls, directions, taxi requests, and guest inquiries.
- Communicate effectively using radio and other tools.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the General Manager or Front Desk.
Requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service or hotel operations is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods.
- Handle luggage carts and lift items up to 50 pounds.
- Perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
