 We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who love boats and being around the water to join the team at our Moose Landing Marina location. We offer a flexible schedule and a fun work environment. You will assist customers with boat reservations, prepare and clean boats for outings, ensure safety on the docks and work with our Dockmaster to provide an outstanding boating experience for our customers and their guests. This position is seasonal, from May 15th through October 15th, part-time, and requires availability on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Type: $16-$18 per hour based on experience and performance.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Dockhand is responsible for properly maintaining all vessels to the highest standards. Responsible for ensuring the safety of those using the boats, prolonging the useful life of the boats, and protecting the marina's significant investments.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly, upbeat, courteous, and professional manner.
• Assist customers with boarding / un-boarding boats with an emphasis on safety.
• Assist with docking and fueling boats.
• Clean and sanitize boats and stage equipment for the next outings.
• Inspect boats for safety, equipment checks, tie-up, and proper slip location.
• Ensure docks are clean and presentable.
• Must love working around the water and providing impeccable customer service.
• Work with the Dockmaster to ensure quality standards for customer service are met.
• Perform daily clerical work to prepare the reservation log, fuel log, and weather reports.
• Familiarize yourself with local waters to provide basic chart guidance to customers.

Skills & Requirements

• Seeking a candidate with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a great team player.
• Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised.
• Must be organized and detail-oriented and adhere to all safety policies.
• Must have strong communication and friendly customer service skills.
• Boating experience in and around boats 18-24' in length (basic knowledge of how to operate a boat) is preferable but will train.
• Previous marina and/or customer service experience preferred.
• Physical ability to lift/carry up to 30 lbs., board and un-board boats dozens of times daily, kneel and bend to clean boats.
• This position requires the employee to spend 90% of the day outside in all weather conditions, and weekend/holiday shifts are required.
• Some weekend and holiday work is required.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
• Must pass a background check (for applicants 21 or older)
