The Preschool teacher is responsible for creating a dynamic and interactive learning environment. This quality teacher regards spiritual maturity, academic success, and social growth as avenues of learning within the classroom. He/she will proactively communicate with parents and families to ensure partnership in student learning. Collaboration among teachers, administrators, and parents is a high priority and conducted routinely. This position requires a special person who exhibits loving patience, great flexibility, organizational skills, and a servant heart to follow the lead of the teacher.
School and Classroom Culture
· Interaction with parents, students, staff and visitors in a positive, friendly, and Christ- centered manner
· Teaches classroom routines and rules with a gospel-centered approach to develop students into Christ-like examples of scholarship, leadership, and service

Clear Purpose
· Complete lesson plans referencing Early Childhood Indicators of Progress and objectives that are measured daily
· Generates creative lessons with student friendly learning targets
· Applies Biblical permeation in all lessons
· Routinely uses formative assessment to check student understanding before, during, and after each lesson
Instruction
· Instructs using the gradual release model for quality instruction
· Consistently engages students through interactive and hands-on lessons
· Understands student individual needs in learning
· Makes learning that is relevant and age appropriate to students
Professional Responsibilities
· Initiates a partnership with parents and students to build strong relationships
· Provides ongoing communication with parents to establish trust
· Attends and collaborates with Preschool and Pre-K teachers through PLC’s, instructional time, devotions, and staff meetings
· Completes yearly in-service and training opportunities set by Early Education Director
· Actively looks for opportunities to serve others
· Helps with carpool on a daily basis
· Conducts Fall and Spring parent-teacher conferences
· Maintain a clean and inviting classroom through bulletin boards and displays of student work
SPIRITUAL:
· Is able to effectively integrate the gospel-centered message into day-to-day responsibilities effectively.
· Has a strong reputation exemplified by passion and consistency that students want to emulate and parents respect.
· Proactively seeks ways to improve how the school presents itself from a Christian perspective.
· Born again believer who exhibits the Fruit of the Spirit in their daily walk
· Regular attendee and supporter of a church whose fundamental beliefs are evangelical in nature
EDUCATION:
· B.S. or B.A in Early Childhood or Elementary Education
EXPERIENCE:
· Experience in early childhood or elementary classrooms preferred
· CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain it
· Required ACSI certificate, or ability to receive one within the year
