Wage: $26.00 per hour

Core business hours: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, (flexibility to work overtime when required)

The Shipping Supervisor will oversee and execute the daily and long term responsibilities for the management of warehouse processes related to outbound and internal orders for their designated shift. Responsibilities include task management, scheduling, shipment documentation, materials replenishment with an emphasis on accuracy and quality. In addition, the Warehouse Supervisor will coordinate the goals and responsibilities of the warehouse staff to ensure daily, short-term, and long-term objectives are met.


Essential Duties:

  • Oversee and execute the daily and long term responsibilities of the outbound shipment process including order allocation, delegation of the workload, picking, checking, scheduling, Oracle task management, adherence to customer requirements, adherence to priorities and problem solving.
  • Supervise and provide direction to staff and vendors on a daily basis and instruct in the proper and safe methods to perform tasks.
  • Plan and schedule daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal resource requirements to optimize the picking process and meet daily outbound traffic.
  • Review, improve, execute, and maintain the formal training for staff. Monitor progress and work with the Warehouse Manager to identify opportunities for advancement and growth, as well as performance improvement needs.
  • Evaluate key performance measures to determine the success of achieving established business objectives. Track and share progress with staff. Foster teamwork and employee involvement by soliciting employee input, coaching, and holding group meetings.
  • Supervise warehouse staff to ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assist warehouse staff in resolving issues such as picking discrepancies, inventory discrepancies, damaged products and perform a root cause analysis.
  • Provide recommendations to management for process and procedure improvements and assist with the design and implementation.
  • Maintain all necessary documents to ensure that record-keeping is current and accurate.
  • Monitor all warehouse activities to ensure optimal efficiency, accuracy, completeness and product condition in accordance with company standards. This includes accurate and organized record keeping of all documentation related to shipping activities, safety, equipment service and maintenance, and employee records.
  • Maintain preventative maintenance and safety programs to ensure effective equipment utilization and safety measures are in place for warehouse staff.
  • Cross-train staff in all other functional areas of warehouse and inventory management including, cycle counting, receiving, blister-pack/OSP supply, returns, and transportation management to maintain flexibility of resource requirements across the warehouse value chain.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse Manager to plan and execute daily, short-term, and long-term goals.
  • Evaluate employee performance, review and address any areas of sub-par performance.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are an essential duty including time management.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of progressive industry experience working in complex warehouse & distribution environment.
  • Powered Industrial Truck lift experience, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and General Abilities:

  • Knowledge in the principles warehouse & distribution management.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of warehouse & distribution operations including inbound, inventory control, facilities operations and warehouse administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong hands-on leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management and to motivate line-level staff
  • Ability to provide leadership in performing daily activity including clear communication of instructions
  • Working knowledge in W.M.S. and Inventory Control Application required (Oracle application experience is preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Radio Frequency technology including R.F. gun navigation and task management is required
  • Prioritize competing and interdependent tasks to meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of principle safety concerns within a warehouse & distribution environment
  • Attention to detail.

Other Special Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong supervisory experience in training, directing, coaching, motivating, and executing a dynamic, fast pace warehouse team with differing levels of skill to achieve expected performance and quality standards
  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows application and Microsoft Office software
  • PC Desktop knowledge and usage required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Infrequent sitting.
  • Infrequent Pulling/Pushing up to 1500lbs using a manual pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or Power Industrial Truck.
  • Frequent walking.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to use RF unit.
  • Frequent standing.
  • Prolonged visual acuity necessary to view VDT.
  • Infrequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard.
  • Infrequent push/pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime.
  • Infrequent bending.
