Description

 

Join our team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician and play a key role in providing high-quality care in a high-volume spay/neuter clinic. You’ll assist with surgeries, perform dental procedures, monitor anesthesia, and support overall patient care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in surgery prep, anesthesia, and recovery.
  • Perform exams, diagnostics, and treatments under veterinarian supervision.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of surgical areas and equipment.
  • Educate clients on post-surgical care and assist with foster appointments.
  • Train and support volunteers and veterinary students.
  • Manage inventory and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

  • Required: WA State Licensed Veterinary Technician (or ability to obtain).
  • Preferred: 1+ year of experience with dental procedures and high-volume spay/neuter.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfort with anesthesia monitoring and assisting in surgery.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a shelter setting.
  • Commitment to animal welfare and the mission of HSSW.

Work Environment

  • Hands-on work with animals in a clinical and shelter setting.
  • Exposure to noise, cleaning chemicals, and potentially fractious animals.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.

Salary Description
$28-$32 per hour
