Floyd|Snider is looking to add an Equipment Manager & Field Technician to our collaborative team. We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, takes initiative, and thrives in a dynamic work environment.

Your primary role will be to support Floyd|Snider engineers, geologists, and scientists in the field to complete project tasks in a safe and timely manner; these tasks may include groundwater sampling, soil and sediment sampling, and remedial construction support or oversight. You’ll use your aptitude for mechanical problem-solving to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair field equipment and technical infrastructure at work sites. This role involves a great deal of organization and collaboration, and the successful candidate will provide effective contractor oversight, build relationships with equipment vendors and analytical laboratories to ensure seamless communication of equipment and sampling needs, and maintain organized equipment schedules.

Here’s our list of must haves:

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience with equipment maintenance, environmental sampling (groundwater, soil, and/or sediment), laboratory experience, or relevant outdoor work
  • Proven ability to solve problems in potentially challenging working environments
  • Familiarity with mechanical or electrical systems
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Highly organized and the ability to juggle competing demands and identify the critical path
  • Ability to proactively involve team and take initiative to fill gaps in project work
  • Acquire and maintain any certifications or licenses required for completion of job tasks (e.g.; HAZWOPER, CPR, TWIC, CESCL)
  • Able to lift 30 lbs, push or pull 50 lbs, and use fine motor skills
  • Able to perform significant walking, standing, and bending during field work
  • Valid driver’s license

Pay and Benefits

This is a full-time, permanent position. This position should be between 32 and 40 hours per week, to be mutually determined upon hiring, and during warmer months the position may require 50+ hour weeks for field events which will be compensated. Candidates with 1 – 2 years of experience earn a salary range of $72K - $78K annually. We offer quarterly merit-based bonus opportunities, equity and ownership options, 401K, medical insurance, vision insurance, dental insurance, long-term disability insurance, life insurance, and a transportation stipend. We also offer 11 paid holidays and 20 days paid time off per year.

Floyd|Snider provides employees with a flexible work schedule that includes core hours from 9am – 4pm Monday through Friday. This position is expected to work onsite 4 – 5 days per week, likely spending 40 – 65% of your hours in the field over the course of the year. Project work may require you to work more than your standard billable work week, but Floyd|Snider provides extra time off to recognize this effort. Regional travel is a small part of this role. You won’t typically go more than 3 hours away, and we’ll cover all your expenses.
