You’ll act as an on-site health and safety officer by observing field activities to ensure that company safety policies are being followed and identify where they could be improved. You’ll also provide general field support, which may involve soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and excavation oversight, and other activities. When not in the field, you’ll maintain administrative aspects of the program. The successful candidate is eager to take on a variety of tasks, adaptable, and an effective communicator who brings strong leadership and problem-solving abilities that enhance Floyd|Snider’s field and safety program.
Here’s our list of must haves:
- 5+ years’ experience with managing and developing a health and safety program, plus experience in consulting, occupational safety, environmental management, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational or environmental health and safety, engineering, science, or related field
- Familiarity with OSHA and L&I regulations and experience interpreting regulations and legal requirements
- Professional field work experience, specifically with drilling oversight, and sampling contaminated soil, sediment, and groundwater
- Professional experience with technical writing, particularly in occupational safety or scientific disciplines, and a proven ability to translate technical information into concise, reader-friendly content
- Acquire and maintain any certifications or licenses required for completion of job tasks (e.g.; Hazwoper, CPR, TWIC, CESCL)
- Able to lift 30 lbs, push or pull 50 lbs, and use fine motor skills
- Able to perform significant walking, standing, and bending during field work
- Valid driver’s license
