Responsible for the standardization and pasteurization of the milk sent to the making/production area, maintaining product quality and food safety and for monitoring various critical control points (CCP) and operational prerequisite programs (oPrP). Hours: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Pay: Pay is dependent upon skills and experience. Lactalis offers very competitive pay, benefits and paid time off.
Hours: 10:00PM-6:00AM, willing to work weekends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Responsible to prepare and send to the make/production area a pasteurized and standardized milk product
- Reports any problems and/or concerns to the RSPC supervisor or manager
- Ensures good communication with other RSPC operators
- Applies the safety rules and ensure they are implemented and followed
- Prevents potential risks
- Applies and enforces all quality programs
- Maintains quality product: observes and records occurrences, temperature and chemicals concentrations of CIP, and maintains good hygiene near equipment
- Works closely with quality and food safety team to ensure the quality and specifications of product are continually met
- Applies Good Manufacturing Practices standards and Food Safety Programs
- Monitors CCP #2: HTST pasteurization temperature and time
- Monitors oPrP #2 for filtration before pasteurization
- Contributes to the maintenance of the FSSC 22000 system
- Complies with all Lactalis Policies and Procedures
- Upholds all rules pertaining to confidentiality of information regarding Lactalis products, recipes and employee information
- Other duties may be assigned
Candidate must have the following attributes/skills; strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, vision abilities (close, distance color and ability to focus ), able to push/pull/lift and carry at least 50 pounds occasionally and 100 pounds with assistance, be able to stand for entire shift, be able to perform repetitive movements (e.g. twisting, gripping, lifting, bending, reaching, climbing) and must be able to work over 40 hours per week (weekends are required). Education/Experience
- High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) is preferred
- At least 1 year equivalent RSPC experience in a dairy or similar plant
- Stable and dependable work history is required
Specialized Knowledge
- Agri-food industry technology and processes, food biology, food biochemistry, quality, food safety, and health and safety
Skills/Abilities
- Pasteurization operator license required or the ability to obtain within 6 months
