JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overall classroom management, leading a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment.
- Implement the curriculum via developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Serve as a role model to develop young minds and inspire a love of learning.
- Build relationships with families and coworkers and create a dynamic work environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice.
- Attends family engagement events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years old or have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- 9 months of supervised work experience or practicum
- 3 credits in Child Growth and Development, Birth - Eight Years
- Experience with Teaching Strategies Gold preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with teachers, children, parents and other childcare workers.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Ability to be patient and understanding when working with children and interacting with parents.
- Must participate in required hours per year of training through workshops, courses, conferences, and all in-service training relating to early childhood education.
- Submit and pass background check.
- Obtain certification in CPR and First-Aid within 6 months of employment; must be maintained by obtaining recertification as necessary.
