Sr. Security Implementation Engineer – Palo Alto Networks
The Role
We are seeking a US based highly skilled and self-motivated Palo Alto Firewall Consulting Services Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted expert, delivering advanced cybersecurity solutions to clients by leveraging your deep expertise in Palo Alto Networks security technologies. Requirements
· Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security solutions, including design, deployment, and management in enterprise environments.
· Certifications: Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) certification is required. Additional certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, or equivalent are highly desirable.
· Technical Expertise:
o Deep proficiency with Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), including Panorama management, WildFire, Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, and GlobalProtect.
o Strong understanding of network security architecture, including zero-trust principles, segmentation, and secure access service edge (SASE).
o Experience with complementary technologies such as VPNs, IPsec, SSL/TLS, SD-WAN, and cloud security platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
o Familiarity with routing and switching protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs) and network troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, tcpdump).
· Soft Skills:
o Proven history of taking initiative and independently seeking out new learning opportunities to stay current with industry trends and technologies.
o Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex security challenges with minimal oversight.
o Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
· Education: History of hands-on self-taught learning and relevant technical certifications.
· Autonomy: Demonstrated ability to work independently, managing multiple client engagements and delivering results without constant supervision.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for this position will be: architecting and implementing advanced Palo Alto security solutions in diverse client environments. This position will be providing nearly 100% remote services to Sayers clients in the continental U.S. consisting of the following:
· Design, implement, and optimize Palo Alto firewall deployments tailored to client-specific requirements, ensuring robust protection against advanced threats.
· Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, recommend improvements, and align solutions with best practices and compliance standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
· Configure and manage Panorama for centralized firewall management, policy enforcement, and reporting across distributed environments.
· Provide expert-level solutions for complex firewall, network, and security issues, minimizing downtime and risk for clients.
· Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including network diagrams, configuration templates, and standard operating procedures.
· Advise clients on integrating Palo Alto solutions with existing infrastructure, such as cloud platforms, endpoint security tools, and SIEM systems (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
· Proactively research emerging cybersecurity threats, Palo Alto product updates, and industry advancements to enhance service offerings and client outcomes.
· Mentor junior team members or client IT staff when needed, sharing knowledge and fostering a culture of security excellence.
· Collaborate with sales teams to scope projects, define technical requirements, and deliver compelling proof-of-concept demonstrations.
