About the Role
As an Employee Benefits Associate Risk/Sales Advisor, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining a strong book of business through new sales and client retention. You’ll work closely with key decision-makers, internal teams, company representatives, and community influencers to deliver exceptional service and support. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about client service, eager to cultivate meaningful relationships, and motivated to achieve sales goals while continuously developing new skills.
What You’ll Do
- Sales Goals: Meet or exceed annual sales goals for new business and renewals, driving growth for both the company and your career.
- Build and Manage a Book of Business: Establish and nurture long-term client relationships, providing valuable, tailored insurance solutions, to create a consistent, recurring revenue stream and position yourself as a trusted advisor.
- Develop and Execute Sales Strategies: Design and implement an annual plan to identify and target qualified prospects through various methods, including direct outreach, referrals, and networking.
- Foster Relationships with Key Stakeholders: Build strong relationships with prospects, clients, team members, company representatives, and centers of influence to maximize business opportunities and client retention.
- Community Engagement: Become an active presence in the local community by attending events, networking, and building visibility to strengthen business ties and influence.
What You Bring
- Experience: 2 or more years sales experience. College degree preferred.
- License or Certification Requirements:
- Obtain and maintain Life, Accident and Health license with the State of Colorado.
- Requires current Colorado driver’s license and acceptable MVR
- Sales and Business Development: Proven success in sales, with experience building and managing a book of business through prospecting, referrals, and target marketing.
- Relationship Management: Strong ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, decision-makers, and partners to drive business growth.
- Community Engagement: Actively participate in local networking events and build a reputation in the community to create new business opportunities.
- Insurance Knowledge: Develop deep understanding of employee benefits products and the ability to offer tailored, consultative solutions based on client needs

- Salary Range - Starting pay for this exempt position is $65,000-75,000 annually plus commissions on new business. Starting pay may exceed this range for well-qualified candidates, especially with industry experience. Validated Risk Advisors can expect to earn more, depending on sales and retention performance.
