Ohio Medical Transportation, Inc. (DBA MedFlight) is a not-for-profit, CAMTS-accredited air and ground critical care transportation company and CEMS of Ohio, Inc. (DBA MedCare) is a not-for-profit ground medical transportation service. The Vice President of Legal Affairs and Risk Management position for Ohio Medical Transportation, Inc. (dba MedFlight) and CEMS of Ohio (dba MedCare Ambulance) is responsible for all legal matters, corporate compliance, and safety/risk management issues. The role identifies threats, controls loss, (preventing loss and reducing the severity should a loss occur) safeguards against unauthorized use of funds, protects against injury, and takes appropriate action to ensure legal compliance. Because no amount of prudence can eliminate every possible danger, it also offers tools for financing loss.
This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer and works with all departments to accomplish risk assessment and management.

1. Completion of Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor required.
2. 5 to 7 years’ experience in healthcare required, preferably with prior responsibilities relating to healthcare law, corporate compliance and risk management.
3. Member of Ohio Society of Healthcare Risk Managers or membership in state and national risk management associations preferred.
4. Professional credential as an RN or other healthcare profession preferred.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time.
7. Ability to work in an unstructured, non-routine environment.
8. Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
9. Ability to work in a professional and tactful manner with all levels of staff.
10. Good planning and organizational skills.
