Shipping and Receiving Clerk
Description

This position is responsible for maintaining shipping and receiving matters and for overall cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.

Monday- Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries, registering, and distributing them.
  • Maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items on a regular basis.
  • Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure that there is sufficient storage space for incoming items.
  • Maintain files of goods shipped and received bv preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers.
  • Assist in handling issues that arise in shipping or inventory handling.
  • Ensure adherence to environment management and systems.
  • Troubleshoot shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to solve them.
  • General housekeeping of the production area and breakroom.
  • Prepping, cleaning parts for coating / painting.
  • Stocking inventory.
  • Ski building for machine shipments.
  • Facility painting.
  • Assist with safety updates.
  • Place merchandise in warehouse or storage facility by packaging, liftin items as necessary
  • Operates forklift and pallet jacks when storing or pulling large goods.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Skills Required:

  • Effective communication, observation, planning, writing, reading, basic math, problem solving and prioritizing skills.
  • Proficient computer skills to receive/close work orders, view/search different folders for manual, notes and/or documents.
  • Demonstrated good housekeeping practices.
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with a track record of improvements.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in a maintenance environment with a track record of improvements.

Physical Requirements / Environmental Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Consistent high noise level.
  • Required to wear PPE to include steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection.
  • Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions to include extreme heat, humidity, and cold.
