Job Title: Physical Therapist


As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for helping patients recover from injuries and illnesses, improve their mobility, manage pain, and prevent further injury. You will work closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans and provide ongoing support throughout their rehabilitation process.

Responsibilities:


  • Ability to observe and evaluate treatment effect, recommends change to physician and/or physician extender as needed.
  • Ability to perform an appropriate assessment on all patients as related to the therapy requested and provided and reassessments as per policy. 
  • Formulates a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluates effectiveness of learning, family is included in teaching as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Physical therapy modalities.
  • Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Identifies and addresses psychosocial, cultural, ethnic and religious/spiritual needs of patients and family. 
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Maintains department cleanliness and safety.
  • Interacts professionally with patient/family and involves patient/family in the formation of the plan of care.
  • Communicates appropriately and clearly to physicians, staff and administrative team.
  • Coordinates and directs patient care to ensure patients’ needs are met and hospital policy is followed.
  • Maintains records pertinent to personnel and operation of the department.
  • Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.
  • Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
  • Consults other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities.
  • Documentation meets current standards and policies.
  • Assists with orientation and inservice training for certified department staff members, participates in guidance and educational programs.
  • Assists in ordering supplies, maintains adequate PAR levels to assure all supplies and equipment is readily available.
  • Participates in infection control, departmental training equipment training and organizational CQI activities.
  • Participates in educational staff performance improvement inservices. Assists with orientation and inservice training for certified department staff members, participates in guidance and educational programs.

Requirements:Current state license to practice Physical Therapy

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge of various therapeutic techniques and modalities

Experience working with patients of all ages and backgrounds

Ability to maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records


Physical and Sensory Requirements:

Considerable physical activity:

Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to fifty (50) or more pounds. 

Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.

Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a minimum height of three (3) feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet.

Standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.

Bending and/or stooping for more than one (1) hour at a time.
