CDL A Laborer (Derailment)
Description

 We are seeking a hardworking CDL A Laborer to join our railroad derailment response team. This position involves assisting with derailment cleanup, track repairs, debris removal, and material transportation while operating commercial vehicles and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and willing to work in challenging conditions, including emergency response situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in derailment cleanups, track repairs, and site restoration.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to and from derailment sites.
  • Operate commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and roll-offs.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment as needed.
  • Follow all safety regulations, including DOT and OSHA guidelines.
  • Work in a team environment alongside railroad personnel and emergency responders.
  • Perform general labor tasks, including lifting, shoveling, and site cleanup.
  • Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Be available for on-call, emergency response, and travel as required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
  • Prior experience in construction, railroad, or heavy labor industries is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in rough terrain.

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • Emergency response-based work schedule with travel requirements.
  • Outdoor work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and uneven terrain.
  • Physically demanding tasks requiring lifting, bending, and prolonged standing.
