POSITION SUMMARY
The GSLE Program Specialist is responsible for all facets of developing and implementing quality Girl Scout programs, events, training, and opportunities commensurate with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience. This includes working in partnership with program department staff to deliver quality Girl Scout events, girl training and awards programs, global and travel opportunities, and recurring or episodic projects throughout the council. Will infuse and model the Girl Scout Law into their everyday work to fulfill the mission of building girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.??
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Program Development and Implementation
• Works closely with the Program Director to develop and administer program team goals, strategies, and accountabilities to achieve the council’s objectives.??
• Work collaboratively with community partners, volunteers, and staff to identify needs, interests, and opportunities for Girl Scout programming within the local community.
• Design, plan, and implement community-based programs that aligns with Girl Scout program goals and objectives.
• Develop curriculum, lesson plans, and resources to support program delivery and ensure a high-quality experience for participants.
• Serves as a primary information holder of GSLE programs and the Girl Scout National Program Portfolio and acts as a resource to council staff, volunteers, and partners. This includes familiarity with the Volunteer Toolkit content and functionalities.??
Volunteer Training and Support:
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers to facilitate community programs and serve as program leaders, mentors, and role models for Girl Scout participants.
• Provide ongoing guidance, resources, and professional development opportunities to volunteers to enhance their skills and effectiveness in delivering Girl Scout programming.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive volunteer community that values diversity, inclusion, and the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Outreach and Recruitment:
• Collaborate with schools, community centers, libraries, and other local partners to recruit participants and establish partnerships for program delivery.
• Develop and maintain relationships with community leaders, organizations, and influencers to expand the reach and impact of Girl Scout programs.
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of community programs through participant feedback, program assessments, and data analysis.
• Use evaluation findings to inform programmatic decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance program quality and impact.
• Stay informed about best practices, trends, and innovations in youth development, education, and community programming to inform program design and implementation.
• Stay up to date on the latest safety procedures for all program areas and ensure that partners meet our standards of safety and insurance requirements. Keeps documentation from partners as needed.
Administrative Duties:
• Maintain accurate records of program participation, volunteer involvement, and program outcomes in accordance with Girl Scout policies and procedures.
• Manage program budgets, expenses, and resources effectively to ensure financial sustainability and accountability.
• Prepare reports, presentations, and other communications to share program achievements, challenges, and opportunities with stakeholders.
• Develops business system proficiency and works with the department team to track data, retain, and develop documents and processes.
• Serves as a primary information holder of GSLE programs and the Girl Scout National Program Portfolio and acts as a resource to council staff, volunteers, and partners. This includes familiarity with the Volunteer Toolkit content and functionalities.
Other Accountabilities
• Works with council staff to deliver quality programs commensurate with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience including:
o Provides support to council Signature Events and Encampments.?
o Provides support to council fund development programs.?

KNOWLEDGE AND CREDENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· Minimum of one year of experience working in an administrative role, non-profit or membership-based organization.
· Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Preferred
· Knowledge of Girl Scout Leadership Experience
· Experience in youth development, program management, education, community engagement and partnership development, event coordination, and/or volunteer management
· Bachelor’s Degree

HOURS AND TRAVEL
• Occasional travel, some overnight
