Position Summary:
Cinterra is looking for experienced Vacuum Truck Drivers/Operators who will drive and operate vacuum trucks to perform verification (daylighting) of existing utilities on/off road, trenchless excavation for utility construction, drill mud transport & vacuum truck support for HDD and construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Supplying a safe, effective and professional service to our clients,
- Operating vacuum trucks or trailers,
- Completing tasks associated with vacuum truck excavation, trenching and shoring.
- Ensuring the job site placement of the truck is safe, stable and secure.
- Wearing all proper PPE once you step out of the truck.
- Cleaning the truck upon completion of the job.
- Completing all required paperwork on a daily basis.
- High School diploma or equivalent (required).
- Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement is (required).
- Minimum 6 months of hydrovac experience is required, 1 year is preferred.
- Experience with Vactor, Super Products and GAPVAX and Vermeer vac trailers/ trucks.
- Trenching and excavation experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel, as needed.
- Ability to be on-call for emergency response work.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 pounds or more).
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
- Endurance to perform physical tasks throughout the workday, including bending, stooping, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Agility and flexibility to navigate construction sites and access work areas, including climbing ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, and tunnels.
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
