Job Summary:
Reporting to the Sr. Marketing Manager, this role is responsible for managing the resort’s social media channels, supporting the overall vision for the Powder parent brand, that includes real estate and the emerging art program. The role will focus on the execution of marketing plan strategies across social channels, in collaboration with the marketing and creative teams. This role is also responsible for developing and managing the resort’s influence and athlete programs. This role is onsite 5 days a week at Powder Mountain’s Eden, UT headquarters.
Responsibilities:
- Social Media Strategy: Design and execute social media strategy, with a focus on the @powdermountain Instagram channel, to drive the business’ goals and increase brand awareness among target audiences.
- Campaign & Channel Management: Prioritize key campaign development and implementing and evolving our social playbook, and ensure the seasonal milestones and processes account for social needs
- Influencer & Athlete Program: Develop and manage the influencer and athlete programs, developing lasting relationships with key ambassadors for the brand.
- Content Development: Work with internal partners (creative services) and external partners (creators, influencers, athletes, etc.) to develop unique content for social channels.
- Audience Development & Growth: Develop, assess, and refine tactics based on carefully developed KPIs and learnings in order to grow audiences.
- Channel & Campaign Performance Reporting: Report on overall digital channel health and campaign performances on an ongoing basis.
Core Goals:
- Elevate Digital Experience: Elevate the experience for mountain resort guests across all stages of the funnel, from awareness to conversion, while at the resort and after visiting, via social media
- Increase Awareness & Positive Community Sentiment: Work to increase visibility among new audiences for the mountain resort and increase positive community engagement.
- Establish Presence on New Channels: Analyze current social media trends to assess the potential value of new platforms (e.g., TikTok, X, Facebook) and recommend whether to create accounts; define clear goals and strategies for each channel to align with overall marketing objectives.
- Develop Community Engagement Strategy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of experience in social media marketing and communications.
- Experience in the outdoor or ski industry is a plus but not required.
- Passion, in-depth knowledge, understanding and experience with all social media platforms with a focus on Instagram
- Knowledge of key digital management platforms social media (Later), website CMS (Joomilia), website analytics (GA), project management (Asana) etc, a plus.
- Ability to work within and maximize a marketing & communications budget.
- Ability to forecast trends in the ski and outdoor recreation industry.
- High attention to visual and written details.
- Detail and deadline oriented with strong communication skills.
- Great multi-tasking skills and ability to work under pressure.
