COMMERCIAL RELATIONSHIP SPECIALIST:
Under the general direction of the Commercial Banking Market Leader, assists commercial relationship managers with clients, obtains financial information, analyzes creditworthiness, prepares loan packages and supports relationship building. Emphasis will be on the development of fundamental commercial lending knowledge and expertise under close supervision and guidance from experienced Commercial Relationship Mangers, with the ultimate goal of independent relationship and loan portfolio management.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
In conjunction with the Commercial Relationship Managers and in line with growth in role:
- Requests, collects and tracks required financial information for potential and current business clients.
- Analyzes financial data to determine creditworthiness, including review of business plans, industry trends, and collateral valuations.
- Conducts preliminary credit analysis to assess client’s loan eligibility.
- Assists in maintaining relationships with existing clients, provide updates on loan status and addresses inquiries.
- Prepares loan applications, including financial statements, cash flow projections, and credit memos, for review by senior commercial leaders.
- Schedules meetings with potential clients.
- Outlines loan terms and conditions; and informs the borrowers of loan commitments. Negotiates credit terms, such as interest rate, fees, terms, conditions, structure, collateral, loan repayment methods.
- Initiates either directly or through colleagues, the ordering of appraisals, credit reports, background checks, reference checks and any other information as needed on loan applications or for routine portfolio management.
- Consistently utilizes CRM system to enter, update and report client information.
- Participates in training programs to develop comprehensive knowledge of commercial lending products, credit analysis, and loan structuring.
- Maintains and enhances a positive image and reputation for the Bank, especially in Cape Cod’s community events, civic activity, and non-profit boards and programs.
- Performs related executive, managerial and administrative functions, as may be required, to achieve established objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting or related field.
Previous experience in commercial credit, commercial banking or financial services preferred.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate financial data and assess credit risk
Basic understanding of commercial lending principles and regulatory environment
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
