Quality Specialist
Description

The Quality Specialist is responsible for assisting in customer, supplier, and internal deliverables including but not limited to PPAP’s & FAI’s, Documentation Control, and Metrics. Duties may expand or narrow as required – i.e. supplier focus, customer focus, internal WIP focus, etc.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and perform PPAP’s & FAI’s to assure First Articles meet the customer drawing and specifications. This includes verifying BOM’s & Wire Schematics to print, as well as creating FMEA’s, Control Plans, and Flow Diagrams to process.
  • Review supplier PPAP and FAI submissions for accuracy and completion. Educate suppliers on gaps with submission requirements.
  • Aid in internal audits to ensure compliance to ISO requirements, and customer & supplier audits to ensure compliance to their respective requirements. Assist in educating and closing identified gaps.
  • Provide support for CAR’s, assisting with true Root Cause Analysis and implementation of Preventive and Corrective Actions.
  • Aid in documentation and revision control for compliance to ISO 9001:2015.
  • Assist with external & internal data as needed to identify trends/gaps for process improvement and celebrations.
  • Provide support for projects and Kaizens such as time studies, ROI’s, data collection and analysis, etc.
Requirements

Education/Training:

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; Quality exposure a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Possess an interactive and positive attitude towards CI and the achievement of operational goals
  • Flexible and can quickly change from job to job when needed
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams within and across the organization
  • High proficiency in Microsoft® Office Suite preferred
  • Excellent “customer service” provider, both internal and external; serving attitude
  • Ability to approach difficult conversations with empathy; seeking to understand attitude vs. placing blame
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills, strong in critical thinking
  • Strong understanding of document life cycle, and importance of revision control 
  • General blueprint and schematic knowledge a plus
  • Technical writing skills
  • Highly motivated, self-starter

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel to Village facilities located within 5 miles of each other
  • Some visits to customer/supplier sites may be required

Physical Requirements:

  • Be able to lift at least 25 lbs and up to 50 lbs for short periods
  • Able to stand and move for 8-10 hours per day

Materials and Equipment Utilized:

  • Hand tools (pliers, screwdrivers, etc.)
  • Measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.)
  • Computers, printers, cameras, etc.

Working Environment:

  • 90% Office
  • 10% Manufacturing: clean, low to moderate noise, safety toes and glasses required, and other personal protective equipment (PPE) where applicable.
Salary Description
$22.00-$28.00 per Hour
