Travelpro is seeking a Director of Distribution & Fulfillment to join our Operations team! In this role you will be responsible for managing daily operations and overseeing and optimizing the company’s distribution and logistics operations to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. This role involves strategic planning, process improvement, and leadership to drive operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
This role will work collaboratively with the Chief Operating Officer to develop procedures and policies that will ensure an efficient and cohesive distribution environment to meet all corporate initiatives and objectives. You will also:
- Develop and execute distribution strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service.
- Oversee warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics functions across multiple distribution centers.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure operational excellence.
- Ensure that management adhere to the company’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Lead and develop distribution teams to drive high performance.
- Implement and optimize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other distribution technologies.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety protocols, labor laws, and company policies.
- Identify and implement automation and process improvements to enhance productivity.
- Develop return on investment (ROI) models and evaluate savings vs. projections for all capital investments
- Manage budget planning and cost control for distribution operations.
- Develop contingency plans for risk management and business continuity.
- Coordinates with HR for implementation of effective HR programs to build core competencies and organizational values.
What You’ll Need
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing/distribution, logistics, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years at a manager level or above.
- Must be Microsoft Excel proficient.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment.
- Strong knowledge of distribution center operations, inventory management, and transportation logistics.
- Experience with WMS and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and drive operational improvements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and safety standards.
- Working knowledge of all hourly labor laws.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in distribution environment that includes exposure to varying temperatures (hot/cold), noise, and dust.
- Willing to work flexible hours when necessary to support the business requirements.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move within distribution center environment for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift 50 regularly as needed.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders, bend stoop, kneel, and reach overhead.
- Must have strong visual and auditory ability to monitor operations and ensure workplace safety.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, when necessary.
