Summary
The Mercy Hill Collaborative Director accelerates Mercy Hill Church’s mission of making disciples and multiplying churches by identifying and training church planters, supporting the churches of the collaborative, championing multiplication throughout the Collaborative and Mercy Hill Church, and affiliating new churches into the Collaborative.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Identify and train church planters.
- Lead and manage a team of assessors throughout the Collaborative.
- Lead in assessing potential church planters throughout the Collaborative.
- Lead an annual cohort for training identified church planters across the Collaborative.
- Work with other leaders throughout the Collaborative to ensure that both training content and responsibility is shared by several churches.
- Manage the Collaborative’s church planting pipeline.
- Oversee Mercy Hill Church’s planting pipeline and provide additional development opportunities for planters within the Mercy Hill Family of Churches.
2. Support the churches of the Collaborative.
- Maintain regular check-ins with the pastors of each church within the Collaborative.
- Encourage inter-church coaching by platforming the expertise of planters within the Collaborative.
- Connect Collaborative pastors with resources as needs arise.
- Lead and scale the Collaborative Leadership Team in providing active support to the churches of the Collaborative.
- Host a monthly Family Call for all the planters within the Mercy Hill Family of Churches.
- Facilitate Collaborative events that propel the movement. (i.e., at a minimum, Annual Collaborative Retreat and Annual Lead Pastor Huddle)
3. Champion multiplication throughout the Collaborative and Mercy Hill Church.
- Consistently press church leaders in the Collaborative to identify potential planters for assessment.
- Cast vision to upstream potential church planters from within Mercy Hill Church.
- Remain a voracious learner of multiplication strategies from which the Collaborative can learn.
- Platform the multiplication of other churches within the Collaborative.
- Move the MH Collaborative toward planting more Collaboratives with the same vigor applied toward planting churches.
4. Affiliate new churches into the Collaborative.
- Leverage the Breaking Barriers events to identify like-minded churches that could be good additions to the church planting of the Collaborative.
- Thoroughly vet potential churches before inviting them into the Collaborative.
- Network in a manner that grows the Collaborative through affiliation.
5. Miscellaneous Responsibilities

- Provide assistance with miscellaneous duties during the gathering, including first steps, baptisms, communion, etc.
- Host a table or serve at Weekender and/or Vision Summit events.
- Assist in various ways with large-scale events like Kids Week, Fall Launch, etc.
