As a Pharmacy Technician (Production & Order Entry hybrid role), you will be licensed as a pharmacy technician who will work to enter new or refill orders, adjudicate insurance claims, and handle order exceptions. Also, you will actively label and dispense prescription orders, including providing unit dose packaging (e.g., blister cards). You may also address the organizing, categorizing, and preparing of finalized prescriptions for delivery.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently enter new or renewed orders
- Adjudicate insurance claims and resolve rejections
- Properly handle order exceptions and clarifications such as refill-too-soon, invalid orders, etc.
- Communicate effectively with leadership and peers
- Achieve or exceed productivity standards in a fast-paced environment
- Pull correct stock bottles from inventory and stage prescriptions for packaging.
- Accurately dispense and label prescription orders.
- When appropriate, prepare unit dose packaging (e.g., blister cards) based on the directions for use, either by hand or using packaging machines.
- Sort and organize completed prescriptions.
- Perform quality assurance checks as directed.
- Prepare orders for delivery.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Minimum one year experience in a retail or long-term care pharmacy; 3+ years preferred.
- Must possess a Massachusetts State Board of Pharmacy Technician License.
- Preferred PTCB Certified.
- Type an average of 60 wpm.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Can meet order deadlines.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Understands basic pharmacy language to interpret prescriptions.
- Can perform pharmacy calculations.
- Is available for occasional overtime.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to withstand long hours of computer screen time.
- Repetitive motion deskwork.
