JOB OVERVIEW
The food runner is a restaurant position whose responsibilities include, but are not limited to, communicating with guests, supporting both servers and kitchen staff, and performing other tasks as necessary when directed by the management staff.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Serve as a liaison between the front of house and back of house helping both teams work effectively.
- Communicate with the cooks and servers to identify what items on the line are ready to go out to guests.
- Present prepared food to guests by manually carrying dishes from the kitchen to the correct tables, maintaining the presentation as the chef intended, and ensuring all appropriate items are delivered with the items.
- Resolve any issues with the food upon delivery by communicating with the culinary staff/table server/supervisor as appropriate.
- Maintain Forbes Travel Guide and AAA Four Diamond Service standards while interacting with guests.
- Contribute to overall resort team effort by completing additional duties as assigned.
