Description
Mate Precision Technologies is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing CNC machines and facility equipment as scheduled or as needed. As the resident expert, you will apply advanced technical skills to troubleshoot, repair, and optimize machinery. This position requires a high level of expertise in mechanical systems, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to ensure operational efficiency.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Move and rearrange equipment.
- Disassemble and repair systems and subsystems of equipment, such as complete and complicated machines, their gearboxes, tooling heads, cabinetry, etc.
- Align machine axis and machine systems.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Repair and replace pumps, valves, regulators, and related equipment.
- Take care of standing equipment such as air compressors, peripheral machinery, chillers, and other utility-type equipment.
- Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
- Repair automated machinery.
- Operate welding equipment to fabricate.
- Set up and operate shop tools such as drill presses, grinders, and milling machines to repair and fabricate machine parts.
- Repair building components such as irrigation, signage, and finish work.
- Diagnose machine problems through sound, vibration, discussion, and operating behavior to understand and repair the machine.
- Requisition materials to accomplish responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Advanced Duties/Responsibilities:
- Use appropriate test instruments to diagnose and test the trouble and reason for the malfunction of machines and complete necessary repairs.
- Use special testing equipment to test circuitry and components.
- Devise test procedures and devices to diagnose problems and issues.
- Collaborate with external vendors, contractors, and specialists to support manufacturing goals and ensure efficient equipment performance.
- Perform precision fitting, alignment, and assembly of machine components to ensure optimal performance and functionality.
- Create prototypes and special machinery.
- Replace, adjust, and calibrate components to align control apparatus to required operating specifications.
- Work closely with and coordinate procedures with engineers and mechanics on the installation of new equipment and modifications of equipment to suit the needs and applications of the business.
- Work from complicated drawings, diagrams, and specifications involving complex machine designs.
- Has a working knowledge of electronic control and servo systems.
- Communicate with vendors, builders, and others for technical insights and training.
- May manage the preventive maintenance program.
Expert Duties/Responsibilities:
- Observe machine operations to determine the nature of the operating problems.
- Will be expected to guide and train others in his area of expertise.
Requirements
- Trade school training and/or a degree in a mechanical-related field with an emphasis on CNC machines is strongly preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent, along with a combination of relevant training and/or experience in a CNC manufacturing environment, is required.
- A minimum of two years of CNC machine repair experience is required.
- Broad technical knowledge related to mechanical and electrical principles and rudimentary electronic skills are required.
- Arithmetically proficient with the ability to do algebra and trigonometry is highly preferred.
- Mechanical and deductive reasoning skills are required.
- The ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, is required.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
- Use of hand to finger.
- Frequently lift, move, push, and pull up to 60 pounds.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- The noise level is moderate.
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
Pay, Work Schedule, & Benefits:
- Hourly Pay Range: $39.84 - $43.95/hour
- Work Hours/Schedule: Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
