Accounts Payable - Entry Level
Description

The Hinckley Company manufactures the world-renowned Hinckley & Hunt Yachts. We also operate 8 service yards along the East Coast for all brands of power and sailing yachts. We are hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist in our corporate headquarters located in Portsmouth, RI to support all multi-locations. 


Summary of Responsibilities

This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable department. The ideal candidate should be able to multi-task, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and have a high attention to detail. 

 

Duties include: 

  • Voucher and process vendor invoices from an electronic Purchase Order system.
  • Code direct expenses with general ledger codes.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Communicate with vendors and employees to resolve issues.
  • Identify and proactively resolve variances.
  • Maintain accurate log of all direct expense invoices sent for approval along with follow up to be sure the invoices are received back timely.
  • Support weekly check run process. 
  • Ability to manage your time effectively and return all communications in a timely manner. 
  • Must be highly organized and efficient.
  • Provide other support as needed within the department.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of experience in accounts payable as this is strictly an AP position, great for someone in the beginning stages of their career. 
  • Proficient in Word, Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Must be able to work independently and have a strong attention to detail
  • Good organizational and oral/written communication skills
  • Experience using ERP system helpful but not required
Salary Description
$27 per hour
