E&E Foods is looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor for its Kenai, AK operations. The position is seasonal with nine months (January - September) spent on site in Kenai. The onsite QA supervisor will have four direct reports. The QA Supervisor reports to the Kenai Plant Manager and Corporate QA Director.

The QA Supervisor is responsible for monitoring product quality and compliance with all federal, state and local government food safety and regulatory requirements, as well as GFSI and third-party audits. This position leads the Food Safety and HACCP teams, and reports to the Plant Manager and Quality Director.
The QA Supervisor will need to be a self-starter with ability to work independently and maintain professional demeanor and attitude. They must be a creative problem solver and able to work effectively despite persistent interruptions and changing priorities.
They must possess good verbal & written communication skills and have strong interpersonal communication skills. They will need to work positively with others within every aspect of Pacific Star Seafoods, and E&E Foods Corporate Team.
Finally, they will need to be well organized and able to prioritize projects and deadlines and have intermediate or greater computer skill.
Job Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Conducts daily plant walk-through to observe employee practices and monitor plant for cleanliness and any obvious sanitation concerns
• Ensures Pre-op checklist is completed daily and reviewed, and all QC paperwork is being filled out properly
• Conducts review of daily paperwork within 7 days
• Keeps paperwork filed appropriately for prompt retrieval during an audit
• Accompanies inspectors through the plant for all inspections, whether they are for product or the plant
• Monitors QC supply levels and replenishes as needed (TT4s, swabs, thermometers, etc.)
• Ensures annual calibration of measuring equipment is performed and records are kept
• Maintains approved supplier information, requesting annual updates and documents
• Assists Sanitation with chemical inventory
• Oversees daily QA operations and functions, available for questions or assistance while the plant is in operation
• Conducts HACCP meetings monthly
• Maintains, verifies and validates HACCP plan at least annually
• Conducts Mock Recalls annually, at a minimum
• Conducts annual training on an on-going basis
• Works with outside lab for micro testing of swabs and finished products
• Conducts monthly environmental swabbing or oversees trained swab designee
• Provide customers with any requested documentation in a timely manner
• Investigate customer complaints, as needed, and respond within 10 business days
Skills/Proficiencies:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Proficient in GMP’s and Sanitation practices
• HACCP certified for seafood
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Able to effectively communicate with people in various roles at all levels in the plant
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet or beat deadlines
• Have a strong working knowledge of production operations and related equipment
• Must be adaptable to the unpredictable needs of a production environment
• Able to work in a cold wet environment
• Maintain a positive attitude and set a good example
• Familiar with GFSI requirements and programs; able to maintain and grow those programs
• Proficient with 5 Why Analysis for customer complaint investigations, and be able to trend results
• Proficient with risk analysis
Requirements
• HACCP certification
• 3-5 years QA/QC work in a food manufacturing environment

SALARY & BENEFITS:
• The starting wage is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour straight time and $33.00 to $37.50 per hour overtime.
• Round trip airfare from largest city near point of hire to plan location in Alaska.

WORK ENVIRONMENT and LIVING LOCATION:
• Must be able to sustain a 12 hour per day/7 days a week work schedule for the duration of the season.
• Housing is dormitory style, and you may share a room with up to 3 people.
