E&E Foods is looking for a Quality Assurance Tech for its Kenai, AK operations. The position is seasonal from June through Mid- September.  The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring product quality and compliance with all food safety and regulatory requirements. This position is a member of the facility Food Safety team. The QA Technician reports to the QA Supervisor.


The successful candidate will:

The QA Tech must possess good verbal & written communication skills and have strong interpersonal communication skills. They will need to work positively with others within every aspect of Pacific Star Seafoods, and E&E Foods Corporate Team. 

Requirements

Job Duties and Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Conduct incoming and finished product inspections

• Conducts daily GMP inspections

• Monitors plant Critical Control Points and reports on daily paperwork

• Conducts daily pre-op inspections

• Inspects returned product

• Places product on hold if necessary and monitors held product for proper disposal or reconditioning

• Monitors environmental temperatures in production and warehouse areas

• Responsible for weekly thermometer calibration

• Responsible for daily scale calibration

• Ensures safety, sanitation, regulatory requirements and GMP’s are followed

• Assists with conducting crew training for food safety and/or regulatory requirements

• HACCP team member

• Collects copy of all labels used; fills out label log

• Checks knives in and out daily

• Help in production as needed


Skills/Proficiencies:

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

• Familiar with current Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety regulations

• Familiar with HACCP principles and CCP’s in plant

• Good written communication skills

• Has the ability to work a demanding schedule

• Able to work in cold and wet conditions

• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to effectively communicate with people of all levels and roles

• Ability to work in a team environment 

• Maintain positive attitude and set a good example

• Must be adaptable to the unpredictable needs of a production environment

• Have a working knowledge of production operations


Requirements

• HACCP certification preferred

• 1-2  years QA/QC work in a food manufacturing environment

• No allergies to fish

• Able to work standing for long periods of time

• Able to lift 50 pounds

• Bilingual skills a plus

• Able to negotiate stairs and ladders

• Able to multi-task

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment

• Problem solving and decision-making skills


SALARY & BENEFITS: 

• The starting wage is $17.00 to $19.00 per hour straight time and $25.50 to $28.50 per hour overtime.  

• Round trip airfare from largest city near point of hire to plan location in Alaska. 

• Free room and board


WORK ENVIRONMENT and LIVING LOCATION: 

• Must be able to sustain a 12 hour per day/7 days a week work schedule for the duration of the season. 

• Housing is dormitory style, and you may share a room with up to 3 people.
