Description

Mercy Home for Children is recruiting for this newly created IT Associate position that will oversee the day-to-day operations for this nonprofit agency.  This role is crucial in ensuring the seamless functioning of our IT infrastructure and managing relationships with third-party IT support vendors. The successful candidate will also provide help desk support across various locations in Mercy Home. Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Associate Degree is required in a related field.
  •  At least 2-3 years experience in IT Management or similar role.
  • ·Strong knowledge of  IT systems, networks & related technologies.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles & best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving  & analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently & as a part of a team.
  • ·Proven track record in managing third-party vendors & IT projects.
  • Clean & valid New York State Driver's License is required.

Job Responsibilities:


· IT Infrastructure Management:

· Oversee and maintain the organization's IT systems and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance. Assist in the installation, operation and maintenance of computer & communications systems.

· Implement and monitor IT policies and procedures to ensure data security and compliance.

· Vendor Management:

· Manage relationships with third-party IT support vendors, ensuring in compliance with OPWDD and best practice are met.

· Act as the liaison between outsourced computer operations to ensure configuration of hardware and software are efficient, as well as setting up peripherals such as printers or routers for the users.

· Coordinate with vendors for system upgrades, cybersecurity, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

· Help Desk Support:

· Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to staff at various locations within the Brooklyn, Queens & Baldwin L.I. programs.

· Respond to IT-related inquiries and issues promptly and effectively.

· Demonstrate familiarity with recent versions of Microsoft Office software suite, Therap, Fund-EZ, etc.

· Project Management:

· Lead and manage IT projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with Mercy Home goals.

· Collaborate with other departments to understand and address their IT needs.

· Team Leadership:

· Supervise and mentor junior IT staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

· Conduct regular training sessions to enhance team skills & users.

Other Functions: 

· Assist other Mercy Home Departments as required.

· All other duties as assigned.
