REVELXP is looking for an event management, revenue, and operations minded individual. As the Event Manager, you will report to and support the Executive General Manager in executing company objectives at our Auburn University property. You will be expected to build strong relationships with guests, vendors, other office staff and lead seasonal and hourly game day staff. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrate a proven track record of success in sales activities and building relationships with key stakeholders across multiple industries, gather and synthesize key information and the ability to work effectively with a variety of colleagues.
Ultimately, a top-notch event manager should be able to perform efficiently in a high-pressure environment and demonstrate excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:
- Be on-site and lead event execution at for our home football game days and other events, as needed. This includes but is not limited to fulfillment of sold assets, providing exceptional experience for our guests, and ensuring flawless implementation of our services.
- Responsible for comprehensive cleanup following home football games.
- Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate seasonal associates and hourly game day staff which will include bellhops, tent hosts, parking attendants, etc.
- Schedule and record hourly staff members work time under budget.
- Develop relationships with direct reports and hourly staff members to establish and maintain high morale, expectations and overall office culture.
- Prepare weekly in season tailgate coordination meetings to ensure proper scheduling of hourly staff members and define operational needs and expectations.
- Assist in preparation for weekly event rental coordination meetings and communication with production team.
- Assist in selling, executing and quality control of event rentals.
- Responsible for several processes including (but not limited to) quality control, inventory management, catering orders, vendor relationships and budget management.
- Responsible for maintaining the live tracker for tailgate sites and all logs and maps for game days.
- Secure new and manage and maintain existing local vendor relationships.
- Responsible for event layout and design for tailgate sites and event rentals as well as any special event tailgates.
- Understand key client information including business strategy, products and services, key customers, and competitors.
- Provide a high level of service that enhances a guest’s/client’s overall experience.
- Responsible for overall office organization and cleanliness.
- Build and maintain the e-commerce platform for tailgates.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree, preferably in business administration, event management, hospitality management, sports management or similar.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a knack for building and nurturing relationships in a dynamic event environment.
- Tremendous organizational skills, with a keen ability to gather and synthesize key information to support effective decision-making.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, demonstrating poise and adaptability in the face of challenges.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities, coupled with a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles and achieving desired outcomes.
- Outstanding customer skills combined with the ability to handle problems and complaints in a professional manner with guests/clients.
- An ability to identify weaknesses and provide coaching where necessary.
- Very proficient computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Canva.
- Must be able to lift 20lbs. and work weekends.
