Summary

The Event Sourcing Manager is an expert in the events industry and enjoys leading the proposal process from start to finish. They are personable, organized and a great communicator. Because they will partner with the account team to drive the sales process, they should also have the ability to create strong client relationships. They thrive in fast-paced environments where working on multiple projects at one time is the norm.

The Event Sourcing Manager will begin each potential opportunity by identifying the event objectives, and then sourcing hotels/venues and other creative solutions for each proposal’s unique needs. They will then partner with the sales team to present their recommendations to clients and move to the contract phase, where a high level of critical thinking and detail are crucial.

This position reports to the Design and Purchasing Director.

You’ll spend your days on the following:

• Serving as an expert in hotels and destinations.
• Managing hotel sourcing platforms (primarily Cvent) including issuing RFPs.
• Conducting research on venues, activities, and other elements for proposal completion. Mastering clients’ brand standards and culture
• Analyzing hotel/venue proposals to determine ideal options for events.
• Managing, negotiating, and executing hotel and vendor contracts.
• Compiling hotel grids into visually appealing presentations.
• Project budget creation and client reporting for all projects.
• Staying abreast of industry trends to integrate new destinations and ideas. Infusing creativity throughout proposals.
• Using industry terminology and pricing models.
• Proofreading and crosschecking documents for accuracy.
• Proactively reaching out to clients to share insights on new hotel openings and relevant trends.
• Taking active role in department meetings and brainstorm sessions.
• Traveling less than 10 percent of the year.
• Energetically representing the Augeo brand in the community and industry.
• Presenting proposals to clients and taking feedback to find the best opportunity
• Track deliverables for clients and greater organizational needs

What you’ll need to be successful in this role:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study. Three to five years of experience in business/proposal development, communication, event planning or like field. Experience in hotel and venue contracting is a plus.
