General Job Summary


The VP, Strategic Growth assists both the Regional Manager and EVP, National Production Manager and others as directed to form MSA relationships and retail production opportunities. Analyzing the potential of each relationship, the VP, Strategic Growth will employ traditional sourcing strategies and resources as well as developing new, creative production opportunities. They will play a critical role in retaining and recruiting the best possible individuals and achieving staffing objectives by sourcing MSA opportunities and evaluating candidates for ULG. 


Summary of Essential Job Functions

Essential Functions:

  • Generate network pipeline through outbound prospecting and networking. 
  • Identify, implement, and administer the Recruiting CRM for ULG. 
  • Qualify prospects generated through outbound initiatives or marketing-driven inbounds. 
  • Drive attendance to MSA and Loan Officers in and out of our footprint on the West Coast.
  • Act as a self-starter while leveraging cross-functional collaboration wherever appropriate. 
  • Sourcing MSA relationships and Production candidates. 
  • Work with ULG Leadership on establishing sourcing priorities and developing targets. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with ULG’s and University Bank’s internal and external recruiters. 
  • Seek out and identify MSA opportunities where ULG conducts business. 
  • Conduct regular and consistent follow-up with managers to determine the needs, plans and implementation of MSA and candidates in a predetermined market area. 
  • Develop a pipeline of qualified candidates. 
  • Research and recommend new sources of proactive candidates. 
  • Conduct and pre-screen interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods. 
  • Schedule interviews and provide timely follow up for ULG Leadership. 
  • Be an ambassador of the University Lending Group brand. 

Knowledge Management:

  • Proficiency in understanding of LOS, software tools, third party websites, etc. 
  • Obtain and maintain necessary licenses/certification as required by ULG.  
  • Maintain contact with inactive prospects on at least monthly and seasonal basis.
  • Send thank you emails and cards to all closed customers/ transactions asking for referrals.

Requirements

Education, Training and Work Experience

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree desired.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in mortgage related field; preferably sales management / recruiting experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of mortgage and home equity products and GSE underwriting guidelines. 
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 
  • Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers and business partners. 
  • Complete all assigned training in a timely manner. 
  • Organizational skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while maintaining high degree of accuracy. 
  • Strong sales, leadership and management skills are essential.  
  • Mortgage origination experience required. 
  • Sales oriented, possesses good interpersonal and communication skills, and have a strong desire to succeed. 
  • Excellent customer service and follow up.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, strong team player, and self-motivated. 
  • Strong knowledge of and usage of Ellie Mae Encompass/ Modex and Motivity.
  • Running Production reports.
  • MS Word, Modex, MS Excel & MS Power Point.
  • Create PDF files using company provided Adobe software.  
  • Ability to manage highly confidential information. 
  • Able to effectively problem solve. 

Working Environment

Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk).
  • May be exposed to extended periods of interaction with others (talking/listening/taking notes).
  • Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard).

The salary range for this role ($75,000 -$95,000/year plus incentives) takes into consideration a wide range of factors including but not limited to  the duties of the role, experience, location, and certificates and/or education.
