SMG is seeking a Safety Advisor in the DFW area – Construction.


The key function of a Safety Advisor is to put Safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible when it comes to change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in various industrial environments such as Manufacturing, Construction, Utility & Health, and Pharma.


Overview of Job Responsibilities

  • Site safety observations, including documentation of findings
  • Facilitates corrective measures where warranted
  • Represents the contractor or the Owner in progress meetings
  • Verifies compliance with safety policies and procedures as required by law, the Owner, or the contractor
  • Attends pre-construction planning and safety meetings
  • Provides incident management and support
  • Documentation and Report preparation
  • Conducts Contractor program review
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years of Construction Safety experience
  • Minimum of three years of direct safety management experience
  • Degree in safety or related fields, or ten years of full-time safety experience
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course
  • First-aid/CPR certification from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.

Experience preferred in the following areas

  • General Construction experience
  • Certifications including CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST
  • OSHA 510 or 500
  • Data Center/Mission Critical Experience is a plus 
  • General Industry Experience is a plus
  • Wind or Solar Energy Experience is a plus
  • Utility Experience is a plus

Physical Demands of the job may include

  • Moving about long distances
  • Ascending/Descending stairs and ladders
  • Remaining in a stationary position for a prolonged period
  • Working in extreme weather
  • Being exposed to loud noises
  • Wearing personal protective gear correctly
