Rubb Building Systems is a growing Southern Maine building manufacturer located in Sanford, Maine. We produce and install some of the finest steel-framed fabric buildings in the world and we are seeking a highly motivated and conscientious machine operator to join our steel fabrication team. This individual will be a key member of our steel shop, at the heart of our operation. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with a variety of common fabrication equipment, with a solid background in interpreting blueprints and working to exacting standards. Responsibilities
- Identify correct material and maintain records and traceability.
- Setup and operation of a variety of tooling and equipment.
- Inspection and preventive maintenance of fabrication tooling and equipment.
- Optimizing production efficiency adjusting equipment as required.
- Ensure that all products comply with quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to company safety standards and procedures.
- Learn and adhere to all applicable codes and standards related to the fabrication processes.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Other duties as assigned by the team lead or supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work with the metric system
- 2+ years of experience in manufacturing facility preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking.
- Frequent reaching and bending
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Available to work overtime frequently.
