Description

Rubb Building Systems is a growing Southern Maine building manufacturer located in Sanford, Maine. We produce and install some of the finest steel-framed fabric buildings in the world and we are seeking a highly motivated and conscientious machine operator to join our steel fabrication team. This individual will be a key member of our steel shop, at the heart of our operation. The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with a variety of common fabrication equipment, with a solid background in interpreting blueprints and working to exacting standards. For someone with strong work ethic, efficiency and accuracy in their work, and an ability to work independently, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to start their career in the steel industry.

Responsibilities

  • Identify correct material and maintain records and traceability.
  • Setup and operation of a variety of tooling and equipment.
  • Inspection and preventive maintenance of fabrication tooling and equipment.
  • Optimizing production efficiency adjusting equipment as required.
  • Ensure that all products comply with quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to company safety standards and procedures.
  • Learn and adhere to all applicable codes and standards related to the fabrication processes.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  • Other duties as assigned by the team lead or supervisor.


Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work with the metric system
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Frequent reaching and bending
  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM 
  • Available to work overtime frequently.
