Summary:
The Facilities Manager at Birch Bay Retirement Village (BBRV) is responsible for supervision of the maintenance and housekeeping departments to ensure the smooth functioning of the facility. The Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and functionality of our facilities while managing staff performance, schedules, and daily work duties. The Manager will have strong leadership skills, the ability to mentor and support employees, and a hands-on approach to assisting with assigned departmental tasks to ensure they are completed efficiently and effectively.

Education, Training or Certifications Required:
- High School Graduate or equivalent (GED).
- Certification in one or more facility systems area preferred.
- Must have valid Maine Driver's License.
Experience Required:
- Five years experience building maintenance.
- Demonstrated commitment to developing effective safety programs.
- Demonstrated customer service skills
Special Requirements:
- Preferred Formal education in electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, carpentry and welding trades.
Cognitive Requirements:
- Ability to read and understand blue prints.
Physical Demands:
- Able to lift and carry 75 lbs.
- Ability to be on feet most of the day.
- Ability to lift, pull and push equipment.
- Adequate vision and manual skills.
- Ability to work on roof or other high places such as ladders
Environment:
- Works indoors and out in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.
- Occasionally works in physically confined spaces.
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, dust fumes from solvents, oil, paint, or other materials, high voltage, biohazards and job-related items.
- May be required to perform maintenance tasks in rooms occupied by residents
