About Marie Philip School:
MPS enrolls nearly 200 deaf and hard of hearing students on our Framingham, MA campus in an ASL/English bilingual, bicultural educational model.
POSITION SUMMARY: Oversee a team of transition staff and provide direct services to assist students, parents, and staff in the areas of vocational evaluation, transition planning, employment skills development and post secondary education planning.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Student Services
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete transition documents and attend IEP and TEAM meetings.
Works with a team to develop transition plans for students.
Develops internship placements on and off campus.
Trains and directs Job Coaches to support transition programming.
Provides direct supervision to TLC Job Coaches.
Assists students, as needed, in the acquisition of basic employment skills.
Serves as a liaison between community transition agencies and The Learning Center for the Deaf.
Represents TLC at national meetings and conferences on transition services for Deaf youth.
Maintains professional competence through in-service, workshops, and other professional development activities.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director of Student Services or designee.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field; Master’s Degree in Deaf Education or related field, preferred
- Experience working with high school deaf and hard of hearing students in an educational setting
- Experience in transition planning and vocational assessment of deaf students preferred
- A minimum of conversational fluency in American Sign Language required, with native, or near-native ASL fluency preferred
- ASL Classes may be required based on ASL fluency
