Responsibilities
The HR Director will be required to perform the following duties including, but not limited to:
- Enhancing the relationship between Home Office Leadership, Site Administrators and staff.
- Analyzing HR policies and procedures with alignment to company mission, vision and goals.
- Propose changes to policies or hiring needs while meeting with VP Education, CEO in alignment with site operational needs.
- Coach, lead and mentor Recruitment Coordinator to meet objectives
- Create job descriptions in coordination with hiring manager as needed.
- Keep up to date on HR trends, laws and regulations
- Maintain, record and report all Worker’s Compensation claims
- Project Management of Incentive programs such as: Employee of the Season, quarterly staff appreciation events, corporate events
- Responsible for annual Open Enrollment and Benefit rollout
- Review HR business practices offering suggestions when needed
- Participate in the Operations Team Meetings and Initiatives
- Manage data reports: Staff Turnover, Benefits, Time to Fill, Recruitment initiatives,
- Manage and report government directed data such as yearly EEOC reporting, State Wage Reports,
- Create, build and train management staff on Interviewing and recruitment, and other HR initiatives such as performance reviews.
- Conducts “Stay Interviews” and “Exit Interviews” on all mid-level staff and above (Lead Teachers, Assistant Administrators, Administrators, Home Office Staff)
- Record keeper for all Benefit programs such as Medical/Dental/Voluntary/Retirement
- Provide guidance and support to all employees of the organization
- Oversee the compliance of HR employee Files while maintaining all government and Department of Human Services (DHS) required documents
- Report all RI DLT required inquires for unemployment such as the “E-Response” System.
- Attend State of RI DLT Adjudication hearings on unemployment claims
- Maintain relationships with community partners for volunteers and internships.
- Project manager for RI DLT employment programs and Grants such as: OTJ, Work Immersion.
- Manage all leaves of absence including FMLA and Non-FMLA leave requests.
- Monitor all employee counseling/warnings to ensure management staff is following company procedures steps for lawful termination
- Provide on-site support to site administrators when needed
- Data entry of pertinent information into the HRIS and ATS.
- Full-Cycle Recruitment – including entry of new hires into HRIS
- Oversee onboarding practices including those of Recruitment Coordinator
- Employee Relations: Provide support and guidance to Managers on all levels.
- Manage all employee grievances following chain of command reporting to VP and CEO when necessary.
- Point Person, Coordinator for the T.E.A.C.H. program: promoting the grant, reviewing contracts, submitting data to state, monitoring student/employee participants.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources Management or relevant discipline required.
PHR, SPHR, highly desirable
Experience Requirements
Minimum of 5-years of progressive experience working in Human Resources management role.
Proven problem-solving skills in Employee Relation issues
Platform training
Benefit administration
Knowledge of Early Childhood Education industry preferred.

Ability to be engaged in physical exercise with children such as walking, running, crawling, bending, twisting, etc.
Must have visual and hearing acuity
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Other Qualifications
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently
Must pass national criminal background/fingerprints check
Must pass Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) Clearance Request (CPS)
Must be able to travel between locations
