2nd Shift Molding Technician
Description

Job Summary:

Sets up and adjusts plastic molding machines for other workers by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operates hydraulic lift and scissor lift table to move molds into injection molding machines.

• Sets mold into machine using specialized equipment according to written controlled procedures.

• Observes proper Lock-Out Tag-Out as applicable.

• Keep Molding Floor clean and orderly by sweeping, mopping, picking up trash, and wiping molding machines regularly.

• Maintains the organization and stocking of the molding cabinets and carts.

• Assist with other molding floor and machine duties as directed by Shift Lead.

• Follows direction of shift lead to do other related projects to support the molding floor staff.


Requirements

Education: Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. FORKLIFT CERITIFCATION REQUIRED.


Other Skills

• Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

• Knowledge of Word Processing software and Spreadsheet software.

• Balances team and individual responsibilities; exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views; gives and welcomes feedback; contributes to building a positive team spirit; puts success of team above own interests; able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives; supports everyone's efforts to succeed.

• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
